BBSport High School
BBSchool for the 2025/2026 school year adds another pathway to its educational offering. It is a sports high school that stands out for its balance between academic excellence and sports preparation, providing an opening to the world of sport on a national and international level compared to the academic athletic and professional scene.
Through a curriculum characterised by an integrated and reinforced use of the English language, BBSport High School allows students to focus on their PASSIONS and start building their OWN CAREERSHIP from the age of 16.

First two years
The International Sport High School curriculum is developed according to ministerial guidelines with the aim of integrating a high-level science education with an advanced sports education. Students follow the traditional science subjects such as mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and natural sciences, flanked by a significant number of hours dedicated to sports disciplines, both theoretical and practical.
English, although a second language, is strongly reinforced and used on a daily basis through lessons entirely in English or the co-presence of English/Italian teachers in the classroom.
This is followed by a course of your choice from the following:
- three-year bilingual sports course
- three-year IBDP course
- two-year COP

The first course represents the completion of the Italian Liceo Scientifico Sportivo curriculum and is designed to provide a comprehensive education in both academic and sporting fields. The sports education includes physical education modules covering sports practice, physical activity theory, biomechanics and training strategies. Sports medicine and health management of athletes is also addressed to ensure a well-rounded preparation.
The programme is further enriched with sector-specific subjects such as economics and sports law, which provide an understanding of the economic and legal dynamics of the sports world. Sport psychology is another key component, focusing on the development of athletes’ mental and leadership skills. English, enhanced in the number of hours, is studied not only as a foreign language, but as a fundamental tool for international communication, indispensable in the global sporting context.
At the end of the third year, students have the option of taking an optional IGCSE in Business Studies or Coordinated/Combined Sciences, further expanding their skills and future opportunities. At the end of the fourth year, there is the IELTS language certificate, which attests to the level of proficiency in English, useful for future careers and university studies.

Attainment of:
- IB Diploma
The Bilingual British School is an IB World school for teaching the IB Diploma, an international academic diploma that is ideal in terms of continuation for students of a two-year sports high school due to its flexibility, structure and international validity.
Students can in fact choose subjects that complement their sporting background, while at the same time seeing their aptitudes and passions enhanced.
The IB Diploma Programme is an internationally recognised upper secondary school qualification. The diploma is recognised by the Italian Ministry and is legally equivalent to the Italian Baccalaureate.
The Bilingual British School is a candidate school for teaching the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The school is in the process of being accredited as an IB World School.

The third specialism combines studies with practical training in international sports management.

Linguistic objectives
At BBS Sport High School, English is understood as a second language and the entire programme is carefully structured to strengthen the language skills of ALL students.
English is integrated into all areas of the curriculum: students not only study it as a subject in its own right, but also use it as a means of instruction in various academic disciplines.
The importance attached to its learning, however, goes far beyond the goal of achieving a high academic level. Indeed, the language course is designed to ensure that students acquire a practical and functional command of it, useful in a wide range of everyday and professional contexts.
