IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)

The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a rigorous and challenging course of study designed to prepare students for university and life’s challenges. It can be accessed from the age of 16 and lasts two years. It is particularly valued by universities, which recognise commitment and determination, as well as the ability to handle demanding workloads and research.

Programme objectives

The IBDP aims to develop students with a broad range of knowledge and skills, capable of thinking critically and reflecting on their actions and the world around them. The programme encourages intellectual curiosity, cross-cultural understanding and continuous learning.

The IB is not just an educational journey, but a journey that pushes you to explore new ideas, cultivate curiosity and develop an international outlook.

Innovative and global approach

The IB Diploma Programme offers an innovative and comprehensive curriculum structured around six subject areas, ranging from languages to sciences, mathematics and the arts, with the possibility for students to customise their studies by choosing subjects at standard or advanced level.

At the heart of the programme are two core components: the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), which explores how human beings understand reality, and the Creativity Activity Service (CAS), which promotes personal development through artistic, sporting and community service activities.

Students must also complete an Extended Essay, an academic research paper. This approach not only fosters the acquisition of knowledge, but also develops critical and analytical thinking, preparing students to understand and interact with the global context in which they live.

IB student

The IB student is an individual who embodies the values of the IB Learner Profile, distinguished by his or her commitment to becoming a critical and reflective thinker, capable of analysing complexity with an open mind and global perspective.
