BBS HISTORY

Ten years of experience

Founded in 2011 in Scanzorosciate (Bergamo) and developed under the careful direction of Patrizia Canzoneri, Bilingual British School is a bilingual peer school that advocates an educational system based on the relationship between culture and competence, between contents and their transmission, between tradition and innovation.

BBS is the fruit of an innovative vision of doing school, in which tenacity and hard work have contributed to the definition of an educational pathway that welcomes and accompanies students from the Nursery, leading them to the gates of the university world.

BBS conceives bilingualism not as a mere goal, but as an essential tool for the definition of a solid, profound and at the same time lasting and innovative education in English and Italian.

Two languages, infinite possibilities of knowledge

BBS opens up to the world, taking upon itself the dynamism and attitude to change and innovation that characterises the working world of today and tomorrow.

Bilingualism and in particular the use of English for learning purposes determines a conception of the acquisition of linguistic competence understood not as a mere goal, but as an essential tool for the definition of a solid, profound and at the same time lasting and innovative education. This way of understanding bilingual teaching is based on the conviction that, both in didactics and in everyday life, knowledge and competence together can be decisive.

Language learning is understood, in other words, as a tool for the acquisition of solid, broad and diverse knowledge, which in turn is functional to the maturation of personal and attitudinal qualities essential for an effective approach to the challenges offered by an ever-changing world.

Bilingualism is paired with teaching methods that use experimentation, creativity and transversality as strong points.

BBS is a dynamic academic reality, constantly keeping up to date with a changing world; without losing sight of the importance of a solid cultural background and a fulfilling, creative, stimulating human and relational environment.

BBS is configured as a people-oriented educational model: in order for an educational project to constantly strive for excellence, both in academic and pedagogical terms, it is necessary to generate an active dialogue between all components of the educational triad, namely: teachers, students and parents.

Hence, the focus on training and constant updating of teachers and staff through workshops, discussion tables and open debates.

A full life experience

The ultimate goal is the promotion of students and the maximisation of their aptitudes, achieved through the development not only of their knowledge but also of their skills, passions and talents.

Didactics and meta-learning actively dialogue in a multidimensional didactic approach: BBS does not limit itself to providing its students with notions, but defines effective strategies and pathways capable of putting everyone in a position to be able to manage, exploit and enhance this knowledge according to their different aspirations. In this sense, BBS proposes a training path of excellence, challenging but rewarding, perpetrated in a social and environmental context that aims at well-being and satisfaction.
